Joseph Brodsky
HONEYMOON BIT
Never forget,
as the water hits the pier ,
and the air is flexible - as
a lifesaver.
And about - screaming seagulls, yachts
and look at the sky and clouds
fly very high,
like a flock of ducks.
That in your heart,
like a fish alive, shake and shudder
fragment of our life together.
Let's hear the rustling of the oysters, which bristle
bush. And to help you
the passion that you came to the mouth,
understand - without the help of words -
how the foam of the sea waves,
coming to earth,
creates ridges in the distance.
