Mankell "ashamed of the police?

In an interview with Revista Ñ , the newspaper Clarin , Henning Mankell seems ashamed of being a writer of detective stories .

On another interview, this time for the daily La Nación , I mentioned in a previous post , Mankell, author of the Wallander series, including novels and others, seems to have the need to justify why write police.
